A fully bespoke fitted wardrobe is a big spend. There's a much cheaper way to get the same built-in look: buy good flat-pack wardrobes, then have a carpenter build the bits that make them look fitted. I'm Alex, a carpenter with 10 years on the tools, and this is a job I do.
The room shown is a typical one. The customers had two flat-pack wardrobes. I made the two shelving units either side of the chimney breast from scratch, in plywood and timber, then ran architrave trim all the way around the top so the whole thing reads as one fitted wardrobe wall, with no gap above and no flat-pack edges showing. They painted it themselves to save money, which is a sensible way to keep the cost down.

What I can do for you
- Assembling and fixing flat-pack wardrobes securely
- Bespoke shelving and alcove units made from plywood and timber
- Architrave and trim run around the top for a built-in finish
- Filler gaps closed so there is no dust trap above
- Ready-to-paint finish, or I can paint it for you
- Skirting and trims matched to the room

Common questions
Can you make flat-pack wardrobes look built in?
Yes. That's the job shown on this page. I build the alcove or shelving units around the wardrobes and add architrave trim so the whole wall looks fitted, then you can paint it yourself to save money or I can do it for you.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the size of the wall and how much I need to build, so I quote each job separately. Send me a photo and rough measurements on WhatsApp on 07949 380457 for a free, no-obligation price.
What areas do you cover?
Loughborough and roughly 10 miles around it: Shepshed, Quorn, Barrow upon Soar, Sileby, East Leake, Kegworth and the surrounding villages.
